My wife and I ordered this and got Ted and Beat. They were AMAZING. First, maybe most importantly, they drove exceptionally well considering the traffic. It's just before Tet Lunar New Year and there were two occasions where we were surrounded by dozens of other riders who were all jostling for position. As someone who currently lives near Shanghai in China and comes from NYC in the USA, I can say this was the most interesting traffic I've ever seen and they both were the safest and most controlled. Second, their English was practically fluent, and they were very informative. They took turns explaining the customs of the food we ate, the history of places we'd been, intimate traditions between families, and more. They were willing to answer all of our questions and they had very good humor. Third, we really got to see much of the city. We've only been here a day and really have only been in district 1, which is very western and very touristy. Ted and Beat showed us very local neighborhoods. My wife and I agreed that, along with the craziness of driving around the city around Lunar New Year, seeing the city at it's most busy, hectic and kinetic time made it one of our most memorable moments ever and we've traveled to multiple countries on four continents.I will say that, unless you have a pit for a stomach, you'll probably be full by the end of the night. Overall we had something like 3 savory foods, two desserts and one special drink. Halfway through the night we were 75% full. But it was nice to have options and one thing that was very considerate was that they make sure to check for allergies beforehand. This trip isn't for people who are nervous as the passenger on motorbikes. This isn't for people who get nervous going to poorer or crowded neighborhoods. Considering they told us to be careful with having your phone out in certain places or occasionally walking between lines of oncoming motorbike riders, things can feel nerve wrecking if you're not ready for that. I will say Ted and Beat were very open and very direct when necessary, but we didn't go anywhere that felt dangerous. Just typical big city caution. But if that frightens you, don't do this. Otherwise, it was, again, one of our most memorable nights ever in many countries and cities, and we really felt satisfied by the end. We tasted a banh xeo first up after a short ride and got to watch the lady make them and a lesson on how to eat it rolled in lettuce and herbs. Then we went and had grilled sticky rice and banana. Toured around the old American army housing area and then had a beef noodle soup, a bit different to Pho. Next was crispy rice crackers which we got to toast in hot coals, next a beer with grilled beef sausage on lemongrass sticks, and then finished with flan cake, a bit like a creme caramel but in sweet coffee..nice! The students are very informative about the food and where we were going and anything else, asking us lots of questions about our lives too. Tom got a bit of a singalong going as we rode around which was also fun!A really good night with plenty to eat and drink and lots to see. The bike riding was pretty hair-raising for a terrible backseat driver such as myself but was a great way to explore the city and literally rub shoulders with the locals. The food was all great but not easy to pronounce and it was good to go to where the locals eat and avoid being ripped off or food poisoned! My favourites were probably the banana rice and the spicy pork & rice washed down with sugar cane juice. Plus we tried a few cans of the local beer.
